They say life comes at your fast and in this case it is certainly true! Negotiations began with Tom only recently and have moved at breakneck speed, culminating in the Club’s statement yesterday evening.
Clearly we need to wait until all due processes are completed, however in the immediacy, I wanted to acknowledge the incredible investment and effort put into the Club by Tom over the last four years. He came to the Club with a vision and was prepared to put his own funds in to make that a reality and he has my utmost respect for what he has achieved.
More than that however, Tom has shown his dedication and love for the Club by agreeing a deal with me for the transfer of ownership, which sees us having finished in our highest ever league position and, crucially, debt-free. There are few owners at any level of football who would have the vision and foresight to know that the best thing for a Club like ours is that it goes back into the hands of fans. Tom deserves a special place in the history of the Club and I am forever grateful to him for all he has done.
Once the formalities are complete I will talk in more detail about the roadmap ahead, however for now I hope we can all look forward with optimism to the next chapter for the Club.
